What is a globe valve?

A globe valve is used in pipelines to cut off, regulate or throttle flow. The opening and closing parts of the globe valve, also called the valve flap, move along the centerline of the valve seat, and the change in the valve seat opening is proportional to the valve flap stroke. Compared with the gate valve, the stem opening and closing stroke of the globe valve is relatively short, which is very suitable for installation in the pipeline to regulate the flow.
Globe valve flap opening, the valve seat and flap sealing surface out of contact between the small mechanical wear of the sealing surface, so the globe valve can maintain good sealing performance, but the globe valve also has a defect, that is, the sealing surface may be trapped between the flow of particles in the medium, resulting in poor closure and leakage. The shut-off valve has a small opening and closing stroke, and the sealing surface can withstand multiple openings and closings, so the shut-off valve is suitable for applications requiring frequent opening and closing.
 When to use the shut-off valve
1 . High temperature, high pressure media pipeline. Such as thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, petrochemical systems, high temperature, high pressure pipeline.
2 . The pressure loss is not considered on the pipeline.
3 . There are flow adjustment or pressure adjustment, but the requirement for adjustment accuracy is not high, and the pipeline diameter ≤ 50mm pipeline.
4 . The pipeline with the diameter of ≤150mm in the water supply and heating project of urban construction.
