Compensation sealing of corrugated metal expansion joints

Corrugated expansion joint is a compensation device for absorbing the dimensional changes of pipes, ducts or vessels caused by thermal expansion and contraction due to the effective expansion and contraction of the elastic element of corrugated expansion joint, which is a compensation element. Axial, lateral and angular displacements can be absorbed. For corrugated expansion joints with multiple displacements at the same time, different displacements should be combined to obtain the total equivalent axial displacement. The total equivalent axial displacement is detected. In other words, the detection of the nominal displacement of corrugated expansion joint is the detection of the total equivalent axial displacement. It is widely used in many industries such as thermoelectricity, chemical industry, petroleum, metallurgy, etc.
When the corrugated expansion joint is used on the steam pipeline, more attention must be paid to the installation and maintenance. To ensure the normal operation of the corrugated expansion joint, the joint must not be allowed to leak and the condensate tank must not be short of water, and it must be checked regularly and filled with water at the right time.
The sealing performance of the corrugated expansion joint refers to the ability of the sealing parts of the corrugated expansion joint to stop the leakage of media, which is the technical performance index of the corrugated expansion joint. There are three sealing parts of the corrugated expansion joint: the contact between the two sealing surfaces of the compensator and the valve seat; the packing and the pipe and stuffing box; and the connection between the corrugated compensator and the gland.
