Rubber Gaskets Details

Feb-23-06
Rubber gasket has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, ozone resistance, aging resistance, corrosion resistance, oil resistance, etc. It can produce various shapes of sealing gaskets, solid round gaskets or square gaskets and other shapes, which are widely used in automobile parts, household appliances, machinery parts, LED photoelectricity, electronic toys and other industries, and can play the role of gasket, sealing, buffer, etc.
The main products of rubber gaskets are
Buna-N gasket -20℃~110℃ PN<=16MPa
Fluoroelastomer gasket -20℃~200℃ PN<=16MPa
Natural rubber gasket -50℃~80℃ PN<=16MPa
Neoprene gasket -20℃~100℃ PN<=16MPa
EPDM rubber gasket -57℃~176 Pressure<2.5MPa
Silicone rubber gasket -100℃~300℃ Pressure<3.0MPa

When using rubber gaskets, the following factors should be fully considered.
have good elasticity and recovery to adapt to pressure changes and temperature fluctuations have proper softness to fit well with the contact surface
not pollute the process medium.
not harden at low temperatures and have a small shrinkage
good processing performance, easy installation and compression.
No adhesive sealing surface, easy disassembly.

Rubber gaskets are often made of the following materials.
1 . Fluorine rubber: high temperature resistance, can be used in -30℃-+250℃ environment, resistant to strong oxidants, oil, acid and alkali. Usually used in high temperature, high vacuum and high pressure environment, suitable for oil environment. Due to various excellent properties, fluorine rubber is widely used in petroleum, chemical and other sectors.
2 . Silicone rubber: has outstanding high and low temperature resistance, in -70 ℃ - +260 ℃ temperature range to maintain good elasticity, and ozone resistance, weather aging and other advantages, suitable for sealing gaskets in thermal machinery. Because there is no toxicity can be made of insulation, insulating products and medical rubber products.
3 . Butyl rubber: has excellent resistance to oil and aromatic solvents and other properties, but not resistant, ester and chlorinated by the medium, so oil-resistant sealing products to use nitrile rubber.
4 . Neoprene rubber: good resistance to oil, solvents, chemical media and other properties, but not aromatic oil, its characteristics are weathering and ozone aging performance. Neoprene is usually used in the production of door and window seals and diaphragms and general vacuum sealing products;
5 . EPDM: good temperature resistance, weathering and ozone aging properties, usually door and window seals, automotive industry is the most widely used.
6 . Teflon composite gasket is a new type of sealing material made of Teflon and high quality all-in-one rubber with special production process, which integrates the excellent characteristics of Teflon and rubber, making the product have excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, non-toxic, anti-adhesive, and good elasticity and sealing.
